Debra A. Allan Danforth, DNP., APRN, FAANP, is the director of the Charlotte E. Maguire, M.D. and TMH Clinical Skills and Simulation Center and associate professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine. In addition, she is an adult nurse practitioner. She also is faculty at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy.

She is a recipient of the Woman in Red recognition (2006), AANP State Award of Excellence (2004) and Delta Beta Excellence in Leadership Award (2002). She was chosen for the Sigma Theta Tau International Omada Mentee (a leadership mentorship -- 2005-2007), was FAMU Teacher of the Year (2005), became a fellow of the AANP (2005) and is an STTI Virginia Henderson and Billye Brown Fellow.

Dr. Danforth is the current President/CEO, of the American Nurse Practitioners Foundation, President Elect of Florida Geriatric Society, and Florida Nurse Practitioner Network nominating and conference committee. In the past, she has been a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners nominating committee, president of the Tallahassee Council of Advanced Practice Nurses, and a reviewer for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Foundation Scholarship & Grant Program.

She has presented regionally, nationally and internationally on topics including OSCEs (objective structured clinical examinations), diabetes, hypertension, self-esteem in chemically impaired nurses, basic and advanced electrocardiography, and how to use the panoptic ophthalmoscope and macroview otoscope. She has also published articles and book chapters.
