Job Description
Dr. Hartsfield is responsible for overseeing the clinical education of third- and fourth-year medical students at the FSU Regional Medical School Campus in Tallahassee. He works closely with the Clerkship Directors for each specialty, the Tallahassee medical community and the campus administrative staff to ensure the highest quality of the clinical education program.
Biosketch
Dr. Hartsfield practiced emergency medicine in Southwest Georgia, South Carolina and North Florida for 19 years. He also worked in public health, initially as a clinician in public health clinics in North Florida, and later as a District Health Director in South Carolina. He graduated from the FSU College of Law in 1994 and assumed the Vice President of Medical Affairs position with the Archbold Regional Health System in Thomasville, Georgia, in 2001. His responsibilities included medical staff governance, credentialing, peer review and risk management. Dr. Hartsfield’s professional interests include the legal aspects of the practice of medicine. In his spare time, he likes to golf, fish, read and enjoy the fellowship of friends.
