Job Description
Works within the Division of Health Affairs to provide a rural perspective for the research and programmatic efforts of the various centers. As Center director, promotes and develops funded rural programmatic collaborations within the college of medicine in support of healthy rural communities. As faculty within the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health she participates on the rural health team working to develop and improve the Department’s rural health educational efforts.
Biosketch
Dr. Bellamy received her Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. She recently joined the FSU College of Medicine, serving as Director for the Center for Rural Health Research and Policy in the Division of Health Affairs, and as Professor in Family Medicine and Rural Health. Over her professional career she has worked in the public and private sectors as well as in academic research settings. Prior to coming to FSU COM Dr. Bellamy was Associate Director for the West Virginia University Institute for Health Policy Research and Director for Community Research within the Institute 2002-2007. She is a past President of the National Rural Health Association and currently chairs the Medical Care Section of the American Public Health Association.
