Biosketch
Dr. Norton joined the Department of Clinical Sciences in October 2017. She was born and raised in Southwest Florida and studied biochemistry at Florida State University before joining the FSU College of Medicine Class of 2013 (go Noles!). She completed her pediatric residency in Greenville, South Carolina, at Greenville Children’s Hospital in 2016, then was a stay-at-home mom to her three young girls until joining the FSU COM as faculty. During the 2017-2018 school year, she worked in Gadsden County School-Based Clinics and participated in the School Health Advisory Council in addition to teaching first year medical and physician assistant students. Since the fall of 2018, she has served as Assistant Director of the M2 Clinical Skills Course and as a pediatric lecturer for second year physician assistant students. She is excited to serve as the lead pediatrician at the FSU PrimaryHealth Clinic at Sabal Palm Elementary School, and is actively involved with the Leon County Community Partnership School. Her interests include the early childhood nutrition, community pediatrics, integrated primary care and behavioral health, trauma informed care, patient advocacy, the mother-baby dyad, breastfeeding, human trafficking and global health.
