Dr. Jean Kesnold Mesidor, PhD is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Florida State University College of Medicine (FSUCOM), Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine. He is a Florida Licensed Psychologist, with a focus on Clinical Health Psychology in primary care. Dr. Mesidor provides person-centered behavioral health services particularly to underserved and rural populations in the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Departments at Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Immokalee, Florida. Dr. Mesidor supervises post-doctoral clinical health psychology fellows in the adult service. Dr. Mesidor’s honors and awards include the FSU Clinical Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Mission Service Award (2017), the National Psychologist Trainee Register Scholarship (2016), and the Graduate School Exemplary Doctoral Scholar (2015)

Program of Research

Dr. Mesidor’s program research focuses on chronic diseases (type II diabetes) management with low literacy populations and the impacts of trauma on health.
