Class of 2027
I am pursuing a medical degree because I don’t like to see people suffer, which was shaped by early childhood experiences of being a patient myself and watching my mom endure a medical condition. Medicine is a profession ultimately aimed at alleviating and preventing human suffering. Through lifelong learning, teaching and applying scientific knowledge and skills, physicians are uniquely poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities. It's an honor to be studying medicine with my peers at the FSU College of Medicine, where we are collectively focused on the mission of becoming compassionate, patient-centered physicians.
My most memorable outreach experience was global health volunteering at a free wound-care clinic in Chiapas, Mexico, for three months. This experience immersed me in a completely new environment and culture, where I discovered how social determinants directly influence the health and wellness of individuals and communities.
Between now and graduation in 2027, I look forward to learning how much I will grow, personally and professionally, and understanding how I respond to the myriad demands of studying medicine.
