Job Description
Dr. Taylor is the Assistant Dean of Student Counseling Services in the College of Medicine (COM) Division of Student Affairs and Admissions (DSAA). She is a Clinicial Associate Professor with a faculty appointment in Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine (BSSM). Dr. Taylor is a licensed psychologist in Florida and certified with Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) Commission. As a faculty psychologist in the COM's Office of Student Counseling Services (OSCS), Dr. Taylor provides individual mental health therapy and academic support for graduate students enrolled in the College of Medicine, including Medical students, Physician Assistant students, Bridge to Medicine students, and Biomedical Science PhD students. Dr. Taylor's teaches in the College of Medicine in a non-evaluative role, and enjoys researching and learning about the mental health of students in health science professions.
Biosketch
Dr. Taylor was raised in a rural area of the panhandle of Florida. Upon graduation from high school, she moved to Tallahassee, Florida to attend Florida State University, and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology. After working for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice for several years, she returned to FSU to pursue graduate school. Pre-doctoral internship training was obtained at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Centers. Dr. Taylor graduated with her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology in 2013. Post-doctoral residency was completed at the Psychological Center for Growth and Development in Thomasville, Georgia, including the subsidiary South Georgia Autism Center. Before accepting a faculty position in the FSU College of Medicine, Dr. Taylor worked as the Clinical Director for FSU’s Adult Learning Evaluation Center.
