Dr. Pickett's research focuses on understanding the symptoms of stress, anxiety disorders, and trauma reactions in young adults, as well as examining sleep disruption as an outcome or a risk factor for poor emotional and physical health. As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Pickett’s research is focused on translating his basic social science research program into prevention and intervention efforts to reduce problematic outcomes, like sleep disruption and stress. A goal of this work is to scale and optimize interventions to improve acceptability and accessability of evidence-based treatments.
