RENOWNED AUTHOR ON MEDICAL EDUCATION VISITS FSU

The man who wrote the book on the history of U.S. medical education visited the nation’s newest medical school Nov. 9-10 to see what the next chapter holds in store for academic medicine. Pulitzer Prize-nominee Dr. Kenneth M. Ludmerer met with faculty and students of the FSU College of Medicine and presented “The Coming of the Second Revolution in Medical Education,” the first address given in the school’s new 300-seat auditorium. Ludmerer, a professor of medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, is the author of Time to Heal, which has been called “the most important work in medical education since the Flexner report.” He had this to say about FSU: “I am very impressed with what I have seen in terms of the quality of students, quality of faculty, the curriculum and the educational methods being used.”
