HURT AT HARVARD |
Myra Hurt, associate dean for research and graduate programs, didn’t need a
script when she presented a case study – “Creating the FSU College of
Medicine’’ – at Harvard Medical School in mid-June.
Hurt was invited to present the case study as part of the Harvard Macy
Institute’s program for Leaders in Healthcare Education. In addition, she
served as a faculty member in small-group sessions over the course of the
week-long conference with 70 participants from medical school
administrations and faculties from throughout the United States, Canada,
Europe and Asia.
The Harvard Macy Institute was established in 1994 “to create and foster a
community of scholars who work to promote innovative change in health care
education.”
The Institute runs two programs: the Program for Educators in the Health
Professions and the Program for Leading Innovations in Health Care Education.
Hurt is a founding faculty member and served as acting dean from 2000-2001
at the FSU College of Medicine. Her current duties include teaching in
biomedical sciences and leading a molecular biology research group.
