Through FSUCares, College of Medicine students have worked on medical outreach projects locally and internationally since not long after the medical school opened six years ago. The American Medical Association recently provided a financial pat on the back toward that effort. (more)

Students selected for the FSU Honors Medical Scholars program have the opportunity to earn their undergraduate and medical degrees in seven years. In only its second year, the program has expanded from two original students to a total of 11 undergraduates. (more)

Ten fourth-year College of Medicine students have been selected for induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, which is often referred to as ‘Phi Beta Kappa for medical schools.’ Four of the 10 also were named to the Gold Humanism Honor Society in August. (more)

CHIN WINS SCHOLARSHIP

Moya Chin, a fourth-year student at the Sarasota regional campus, is one of 12 winners nationally of a $10,000 "Physicians of Tomorrow'' scholarship from the American Medical Association Foundation. Recipients were nominated by their medical school dean and chosen by a selection committee. In addition to the FSU College of Medicine, winners were chosen from medical schools at Duke, George Washington, Ohio State, Yale, Texas A&M and the universities of Missouri, Texas, Chicago and California-Davis.
