PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR (cont'd)

Dr. C. David Smith, no relation, was recognized in 2004 for his work in Jay, not far from where George A.W. Smith practices. In addition, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians honored other College of Medicine faculty members and colleagues during its recent annual meeting. Wendy Lockwood, D.O., an attending physician at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, was given the FAFP Part-Time Educator Award. She also teaches students from the Pensacola campus. The FAFP Distinguished Service Award went to Dr. T. Byron Thames, a member of the Orlando regional campus community board.
