Reunion
If you couldn’t make it to the reunion for PIMS and College of Medicine
alumni, you missed a glorious weekend. Counting alums, spouses, kids,
faculty, staff and students, more than 100 people participated in everything
from tours to CME sessions to a trip to the circus. Maybe the highlight was
Saturday afternoon’s barbecue in the courtyard: The weather, the atmosphere,
the food and the music were all perfect. A small army of people coordinated
this event, under the leadership of event planner Amber Smalley.

Updates
Michelle Asher, M.D., Class of 2008, was featured in a photo and
story in the March 19 Orlando Sentinel (“Young doctors a shot in the
arm for children’s care”). "You learn so much more about patients and their
families when you go into their homes," the story quoted Asher, 28, now a
pediatric resident at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and part of a
program that's making house calls in an impoverished neighborhood. "Plus,
it's a good way to learn about resources that are available to families and
start making those connections in the community."
Nari Heshmati, M.D., Class of 2005, has been listed as a contributor
in the newly released 5th Edition of Blueprints in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
He’s a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University
Medical Center in Nashville.
