During the ceremony, Zita Magloire (Class of 2011) described the FSU model as "medicine, unfiltered." First-year students were coated, the Gold Humanism Honor Society inducted fourth-year students and two alumni received special awards. 
New funding will help the college diversify clinical research, so that physicians are better equipped to choose the most effective treatment options -- for patients from all backgrounds.
With a new federal grant, the Department of Geriatrics is preparing the state's health-care workforce for its aging population.
