On Monday former colleagues, friends and family members of the late Sen. Durell “Doc” Peaden came to the college to celebrate his days of helping establish the college and to honor him during a naming ceremony for the auditorium.
First-year students Eric Walker and Tiffany Smith-Sutton received scholarships from the National Health Service Corps covering four years of tuition in exchange for four years of service in an underserved area after residency training.
The College of Medicine is a partner with UF in a $17.5 million award from NIH for a four-year project to translate medical research into healthier Florida communities.
