From the beginning, M.D students at FSU’s College of Medicine have been trained to be part of their patients’ medical team. Starting this month, the college is training other members of that team as well – as the doors officially open for the School of Physician Assistant Practice.
On Aug. 5, Lataisia Jones became the first African-American Ph.D. graduate at the Florida State College of Medicine. She also became a role model for Ph.D. hopefuls around the globe.
Assistant Professor Christie Alexander spends a significant amount of her time with medical students – sometimes in unexpected ways. Like recently when one of them handed her the 2017 Gerold L. Schiebler, M.D. Advocate for Medical Students Award from the Florida Medical Association.
