Deirdre McCarthy is Research Faculty in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, FSU Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases and Center for Brain Repair. Her research interests focus on developmental and behavioral neuroscience.

Deirdre received her BSc. in Biochemistry from University College Cork, Ireland. She trained at Massachusettes General Hospital and Harvard Medical School with Dr. Pradeep Bhide and joined the faculty at FSU, College of Medicine in 2002.
