Joan Meek will begin her new role at the Orlando Regional Campus on May 20. She will replace Michael Muszynski, who is stepping down after the Class of 2019’s graduation May 18. 

“In an age where women are still not achieving the same level of success and attaining leadership roles in academic institutions, Dr. Alma Littles has achieved this as a minority woman, trailblazing the way for others to follow,” wrote her nominator, Suzanne Harrison.

First-year med student Leah Genn was awarded a fellowship in the esteemed Ferguson RISE program. The fellowship will expand on her experiences working with underserved populations as she works on a project related to infectious diseases, maternal health, and health disparities.
