Gathered again for the first time in two years, the M.D. Class of 2021 on Sunday afternoon embraced the achievement of becoming a physician while navigating an extraordinary time in world history.

Dr. Randy Ahluwalia, with a research portfolio most faculty members would be proud to own, is off to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the sixth College of Medicine graduate to match in neurosurgery.

As his 2021 classmates were preparing for graduation, Jason Rivera was headed West with his family. He'll be starting a family medicine residency program in Denver.

Bridge Program graduates 12th class of future physicians

On Sunday, the FSU College of Medicine graduated its 12th class with the Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences–Bridge to Clinical Medicine. By completing the program, the 13 Bridge students have qualified to begin medical school on June 1 as members of the incoming M.D. Class of 2025.

Dominique Catena, now a fourth-year medical student, Dominique Catena, wrote a memorable essary about her experience with a patient who donated organs to help others. The essary was published in the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine.
