Pickett, De Leon join NSF grant interdisciplinary team

Associate Professor Scott M. Pickett and Assistant Professor Jessica De Leon are members of a multidisciplinary team of Florida State University researchers looking to utilize public libraries in response to natural catastrophes. Through a National Science Foundation grant they will explore the development of Resiliency Hubs to serve vulnerable populations.

Faculty, staff awards for 2020-21 presented

The annual faculty and staff awards were presented Dec. 3 in a hybrid celebration at the Durrell Peaden Auditorium and online. Awards were presented to outstanding faculty educators and researchers, Guardian of the Mission and Service and exemplary staff, in addition to longevity awards.

Medical, PA students take part in disaster medicine training
|
|
A group of 48 medical and PA students took part in an immersive, five-hour course in disaster medicine. The 2021 Disaster Preparedness Day event, co-hosted by the Emergency Medicine Interest Group, the Military and Veteran Medicine Interest Group and the Wilderness Medicine Interest Group, was two years in the making after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the annual event in March 2020.
